Raise Your Voice for Blood Cancer Awareness Month 2023

Author: Voices of MPN
If you’ve been diagnosed with one of the rare, chronic blood cancers called myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), Blood Cancer Awareness Month is your time to raise your voice and speak up about the way your MPN symptoms impact you. This September, make a point to:
- Communicate with your healthcare team about the symptoms you experience and their physical and emotional impact
- Know how to identify the signs and symptoms of MPNs and talk about your symptoms at every MPN care appointment
- Describe how your symptoms affect your quality of life and well-being
BECOME A TRUE PARTNER WITH YOUR HEALTHCARE TEAM
Throughout Blood Cancer Awareness Month and beyond, communicating your symptoms to your healthcare team is essential. MPNs like polycythemia vera (PV), essential thrombocythemia (ET), and myelofibrosis (MF) are considered to be progressive diseases—they can get worse over time or transform to another type of blood cancer.
When you know how to identify the signs and symptoms of PV, ET, and MF and talk to your healthcare team, you provide critical insights that can help with your care.
