Taja Connects With the MPN Community for the First Time

Voces of Mpn

Author: Voices of MPN

My disease is mostly invisible to the eye. On the outside, I look completely normal, but inside, I’m in extreme pain. – Taja

Taja is navigating a disease that is difficult for her family, friends, and co-workers to fully grasp. It’s hard for Taja to even understand, as she was diagnosed at an unusually young age with polycythemia vera, a type of cancer that is part of a group of rare, chronic blood cancers known as myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs).

"Invisible" is a short documentary film that follows Taja as she takes a leap and connects to the MPN community for the very first time. The film is the fourth in a series of documentary films directed by Cynthia Wade, an Academy Award®-winning filmmaker in the documentary short subject category, who has teamed up with Incyte Corporation to bring widespread attention to MPNs and inspire those affected to be their own health advocates.
