NOMINATE AND CELEBRATE YOUR 2017 MPN HEROES
If you are living with a myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN), you or your loved ones may know an MPN Hero―an individual or organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of people with MPNs. The MPN Heroes® Recognition Program formally honors those who demonstrate outstanding commitment to the MPN community.
Each year, members of the MPN community nominate individuals and organizations to be selected as MPN Heroes. You can celebrate the MPN Heroes in your life by nominating them to be 2017 MPN Heroes. Nominations will be accepted through September 14, 2017.
Celebrating the Fifth Anniversary of MPN Heroes
We are excited to celebrate 2017 as the fifth anniversary of the MPN Heroes Recognition Program. Since 2013, the program has recognized heroes in the MPN community who have made a difference in the lives of people with MPNs. These heroes are determined patients, dedicated Healthcare Professionals, committed loved ones, and helpful MPN support and advocacy organizations. MPN Heroes have this in common: they contribute to bringing understanding, compassion, and strength to the MPN community.
Finola Hughes, who plays Anna Devane on the Emmy Award-winning TV drama General Hospital, recognizes the importance of MPN Heroes. General Hospital has teamed up with Incyte Corporation to feature a storyline in which Finola's character Anna is diagnosed with polycythemia vera (PV). PV is a rare, chronic blood cancer and part of the group of cancers known as MPNs.
