In Sickness and in Health: When Your Caregiver Is Your Life Partner

Voces of Mpn

Author: Voices of MPN

Behind nearly every person with a myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN), there is the untold story of the caregiver—someone who has assumed the enormous task of supporting, caring, and advocating for their loved one living with an MPN.

The short documentary "Gravity" gives us a unique look inside Amy and Scott’s household, where Amy’s myelofibrosis (MF) diagnosis has carved distinct roles for each as patient and caregiver. By employing an unexpected and fresh filmmaking style, the film allows Amy and Scott to speak directly and honestly to each other—and the result is an intimate view inside their home and marriage as they navigate the ups and downs of their journey together.

"Gravity" is the second film in a series of short documentary films directed by Cynthia Wade, an Academy Award®-winning filmmaker in the documentary short subject category, who has teamed up with Incyte to bring widespread attention to MPNs and inspire those impacted to be their own health advocates.
